The Falls Road and Belfast

 A recent visit to Belfast opened my eyes a bit.

I hadn't realised the "Interface" gates were still closed at times.

The gates are used to restrict access from one community to another and they're closed at specific times during the night.

It's hard to believe the good Friday agreement was signed in 1998.

That's 28 years ago and the gates are still in situ.

I guess there will always be some people who cannot be dragged out from the past, no matter how hard you try, and that goes for all sides.

The Gates are closed at 10.30 pm according to the sign.

They were actually big hard plastic plugs fired from a specific type of Rubber Bullet gun.

They weren't rubber at all, even though they were described as such. Perhaps they were originally rubber, I don't know.
